Infor is going to announce plans for applications that are based on Azure cloud platform of Microsoft.
It is expected that Azure applications will use just-announced ION framework for data sharing between BPM and applications. As a result, they are able to work in concert along with on-premises software.
Also Infor is taking advantage of Microsoft’s Silverlight as well as SharePoint technologies in order to create a new user interface known as CompanyOn. It should be said that CompanyOn can be regarded as a central home for BI dashboards as well as reports and offer ties into third –party sourses, like LinkedIn.
The company is also interested in Salesforce.com’s Force.com as it is regarded as good platform which can be used for building multitenant applications. But the only problem here is that it is necessary to build everything from scratch.
Infor is going to offer the Azure applications in a multitenant form, where many customers are able to share the same application instance, but their data will be kept separately. Due to such an approach upgrades will be offered to many customers at the same time.
