Security concerns has once again come to haunt 20-20 World Champions, as Pakistan’s home series against New Zealand is all set to be held at neutral venues.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where Pakistan staged their one-day series against Australia in May this year, have emerged as favourites to host the series against New Zealand.
”Pakistan would be playing three Tests and five ODIs against New Zealand at some neutral venues in October-November this year because of security concerns,” sources said.
According to the sources, the PCB had discussed several options with their New Zealand counterparts, one of which was to play the home series in the Kiwi land.
However, neither of the options reached an agreement from the two nations.
”There was also a proposal that Pakistan play this ‘home’ series in New Zealand but things didn’t work out because there were issues with broadcasting rights and sharing of revenues playing the series in New Zealand,” they were quoted as saying by a Newspaper.
The Kiwis have earlier refused to tour Pakistan due to security concerns.
