Mumbai: NCP leader R R Patil is back to his office. He has been given the job he lost last year for being not-so-competent.

Former deputy chief minister, who also held the home ministry, lost the job in the aftermath of 26/11 around this month last year.

Having been a target for the security lapse, that resulted in worst ever terror attacks on India, Mr Patil’s statement that ‘big cities faces these kind of small problems’ was last straw on the home minister’s back.

Meanwhile, for finance minister Jayant Patil, who was moved to the home for being efficient, this time has been sent to rural development ministry and Sunil Tatkare, not exactly known for his financial wizardry has been made the finance minister.

In less than year’s time, however, Mr Patil has been given the reins of the home ministry. The decision to make him home minister yet again comes just ahead of the first anniversary of the dastardly attacks of 26/11.
