Govt establishing countrywide network for intel sharing

Delhi blast Government is establishing a secure and dedicated online information network between state police forces and Central intelligence agencies at 30 locations across the country as part of its efforts on modernising communication and information sharing.

“Action has been initiated for establishment of online, dedicated and secure connectivity between all the designated members of Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) and the Subsidiary Multi-Agency Centres (SMACs) in 30 important identified locations and between the SMACs and the State Special Branches,” Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Maken said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

In a written reply, Maken said the move is part of the Government’s exercise of modernising communication and information sharing networks between state police and Central intelligence agencies.
