 Inauguration of Warwick Prize for literature in Britain is round the corner.
The librarian JOHN HUGHE at Sydney Grammar School, is among the final 20 nominees the camp.

Nominated for his collection of fictional essays, Someone Else, he is competing for the award against writers from around the world.

In Someone Else Hughes brings 21 artists, writers and musicians, including Franz Kafka, Marcel Proust, John Cage and Mark Rothko, to life.

Hughes studied at the Universities of Newcastle and Cambridge before completing his PhD at University of Technology, Sydney.

The award is run through the University of Warwick and the shortlist will be published on January 23 and the winner announced a month later.
