Sondheim-Weidman ‘Road Show’

brothers-300x198 Sondheim-Weidman Road Show

NEW YORK: Stephen Sondheim-John Weidman musical that finally has surfaced in New York got money showers in a Road Show.

Now “Road Show” impressively completes the trilogy. Together, with the other two musicals, they provide a sterling look at what has shaped the way America is today.

In this latest incarnation, director John Doyle has made an enormous contribution to the musical.

Doyle has given the show a startling, daguerreotype look. He’s created a stage full of what look like found objects.

“Road Show” starts at Addison’s demise and flashes backward to their beginnings, the dawning of a new century and an exhortation by their dying father (William Parry) to “keep your eyes on what’s afar, not on what we are, but what we can become!”
