Kurbaan: Movie Review

by Garima Jain on November 20, 2009

Mumbai: Kurbaan is the story of newly married couple Avantika (Kareena) and Ehsaan (Saif) move to the USA after a brief romance. Both professors, they get jobs in their new city and a new home too. But Avantika slowly realizes that all’s not well in the neighbourhood.

Kurbaan Review

Kareena Kapoor looks absolutely stunning and Saif Ali Khan manages to look better otherwise. Vivek Oberoi shines in some portions, Om Puri and Kirron Kher are good. Songs are nice enough. It is an effort by debut director Rensil D’Silva’s `filmy’ take on terrorism.

The most hyped movie of the season ‘Kurbaan’ hit the cinemas. The promos of the movie are definitely eye catching and it was quite predictable that it is a film around terrorism.

It seems like there is nothing new to the movie where a nice educated person eventually is the terrorist in the film, parts of which we all have seen in Fanaa, Aamir, New York.

Something which is worth seeing in the film is the chemistry and sparks between real life couple Kareena and Saif. No wonder the bare back posters and love making scene were publicized more.
